Eventful Week

It's been an eventful eventful week. 3 outta 5 days I'm either at some conference or opening or exhibition blahblahblah. 2 outta 5 days I'm either planning for next week and next next week's events OR executing and doing last check for this week's events.

Anyhows. This period of time would not have been possible without some very important people in my life. Ironic but it is through this hectic stage that I realise I've the unconditional love of some of the most wonderful, beautiful, sincere souls in the world. This post is dedicated to them hence.... Thank you for loving me and for giving love to me. Thank you.

I've learnt that...
1. People do things for you because they want to and they love you. Not because they've an obligation to you...
2. Orchard hotel's brownies are the best I've tasted so far...
3. I've the best bf and dad and mum in the whole wide world. (everybody go AWWWwwwwww for me now. AAAWWWWwwwwWWWWwwWWWW......)

Tiredz Day

I'm propping my lids on toothypicks as I type. NAH just kidding. But I AM tired out. Just now was at AMK central searching for stuff for the event. Dragging moi legs as I went about my business..... Later meeting baby for midnight show. MIAMI VICE! WOOHOO~~! Totally dig da soundtrax yo~. Hope the movie delivers.

3 things i learnt today...
1. Belgian choco cake (prima deli) is AWWWWWWWEEESOMEEESSSS.
Thanks to cutie Shirley from Nextwave. Met her at pantry and she offered me a scoop. Keke. imagine velveteen mousse with dark choc bits and hints of grapish red wine, and a dark crunchy choc biscuit base. YUMS~~

2. I put on 2 kgs!!!!
Had a sponsored health check today in office. Kaobeh to baby and he said "no lah, you're building muscles now. A bit of weight gain is normal. Look at body fat" (>_<) I don't care, I shall eat rabbit food!!

3. It takes empathy to build understanding, and from understanding comes patience. Finally from patience comes a sense of calm.
Kopitiam auntie clearing table was a bit rude, but I thought "it ain't easy her job, must understand why she pekcek" and my little spark of annoyance just poofz away with the wind.

Home Day

Today's the first day of this week that I'm home early..lol. Yesterday was at gym doing bike.. Damn siong man!! 300 cal in 30min. Dunno zhun or not. Then Mon went Tamp for dinner.. lol. Just now had site visit to Orchard Hotel for the Supply Chain World Southeast Asia Conference. YESH what a mouthful. Apparently big event for the SCM industry. Now gotta start planning what gifts to get etc.

3 things I've learnt past 3 days:
1. Stay cool. Most people lose their temper/get irritated/angry/upset cos they don't understand where the other party's coming from
2. I get more effective when I'm on my feet. This was further confirmed by Dot who claims that the Chairman of NYSE (some indian fella) does that too. His office doesn't have any sofas or couches etc.
3. Smile and the whole world smiles with you!! (n_n)v

Un-me Day

Today's a cold damp day. I feel so un-me... Like some zombie, something's missing. Left my brain at home perhaps? Felt like puking cos of menses.. Restless.... Tired. Today's also the day I took the most tea breaks. Sighs.

Today's a pretty sad day........ 1st it's wet and cold and I should be at home curled up sleeping instead of working. 2nd today's my direct opposite colleague's last day.... Though he's like 30plus my senior, we can talk. I'd miss his wit and laughter for sure......... Sighs.

Monday's Nicole's last day. She sits 1 seat behind me. Then end of the month the colleague sitting diagonally behind me is leaving. Our area's now left only me, my side neighbor, and another person in another cubicle cluster... SIGHS.

Feel sad to see ppl leave. Of cos it's normal in any organizations. But to have so many at one time...... It's just......... demoralizing I guess? For want of a better word.

3 things I've learnt today.......
1. People always have something to comment no matter what the majority vote is
2. I suck at checkers
3. Oreos without cream taste much better

Dazed Day

Was at HP this morning for meeting. That place's REAL cool. Liked the couches, wallpaper, layout of the place. Thing that surprised me was I saw staff wearing jeans and not so formal at the office. Engineers maybe? Overall very conducive, good for creative thinking and energy. I likes!

Oh and we threw a farewell lunch for Nic today. Reb, mas, cm, ig, linda, nisa were the other partners in crime. Had a good time talking about housing la, hantu la, and miscellaneous crapz.

3 things I've learnt today...
1. Almond-crusted lamb chops at Swensens' actually taste darn good.
2. Work productivity really decreases during "that time of the month". Not to mention the fatigue and blurness that accompanies it...
3. There are girls in the world who would wear super impractical mini bicycle shorts to jog, with a bunch of guys. I think I can even call those shorts 'underwear'.........

Oh gawd. Have I become some old-fashioned grams already??? Help.

Good day

Took a nice walk home after work today. "Nice" because I had time to think to myself, think about the day, think about tomorrow, about travel plans about this about that.

And I discovered I've learnt many things today!
These 3 are the most interesting ones >>

I've learnt today that...
1. It takes 25 minutes to walk from my office to middle of AMK central
2. Para-para is very much still alive. I saw a 20ish-looking chap doing the hand movements while sitting on a pavement kerb. Tryin to impress the girl standing in front of him I suppose. His friend beside him is clearly so not amused.
3. Happiness is very much a gift to yourself, and time is the greatest gift u can give to a person (cos Time just disappears with each and every second)

Goin HP for some meeting tomorrow 9am. No doubt will be a mega eye-opener! Oh shit... that means I gotta dress up "powerly" and put on make up.... drats.

Comms Day

Yesterday's Comms Day was a SMASH I must say! Ended on a high note. Initial dry-but-important corporate directives etc kinda drowned the crowd. Was tasked to enliven the spirits with a quiz.

Man, the folks were awesome. Minute I took over the rostum, everyone gave their utmost support. Pat said there'll be a "test later on after my speech" during his presentation. I rephrased that as a "lucky draw", but you gotta answer a simple question to win a prize. LOL.

Hope I did a good job of sharing ATLAS. Dot was awesome too. She made me feel safe and I didn't have ANY stage fright at all. Got the audience laughing with my corny slides of ATLAS. Clarence, ek, reb, gwen, keewui etc were instrumental too in making the event a success. Shall treat them a little something tomorrow =)

Oh yesh, And thanks to dearie LINDA for her cropped jeans. Muahahaha! I had worn cuffed shorts forgetting that I've a presentation to make..... morning blurness as usuuuuaaal (-_-)

Best part was everyone remembering that "ATLAS is a***scan's baby". Shared with them the plane story told to me by Dot. Hope it kinda inspired them. And my "Oreo vs Creamo" analogy of how important brand is to a company... and that's why we must work together to protect and nurture our baby, ATLAS.. Together with a series of programs to make "A Pleasant Journey" possible for autoscanians and our customers/partners alike.

To round things up we had a piecing ATLAS game, which had clarence's team stepping down (i.e. chickening out) when I asked both teams to sing to determine the winner. The audience was so funny! Insisted on reb's team to sing even though they've been declared winner... LOL. So they sang baabaa black sheep..... with the technical team doing back ups of "meeehhhh" in the background. Ahhahaah!

I'm glad the Comms Day ended on a high note. Was on hyper mode even hours after the event.. hee~

3 things I learnt yesterday:
1. It is important to present a speech in your audience's language. Please don't throw in Maslow's Theory if majority of the crowd don't even care who that is.
2. A***scan has plenty of smart quick-witted folks
3. We love helping each other out (as witnessed by me during the lucky draw quiz event.. everyone was giving the luckily-drawn person answers. Hahaha)

I'm back

This shall be my site of solace.
A place for me to reflect and think.
Since there's only so much my brain can take, I've decided to write down 3 things I learnt everyday...
Might as well utilize blogger to the max while I still can.

3 things I've learnt today:
1. Personal space is healthy
2. A clear structured mind is important to reduce mental exhaustion
3. Calling is more effective than emails and smses
