I tell you ah, sometimes some things you just REALLY have to believe.
For example, Don't bring books when you're gonna gamble.
I backside itchy lah, brought Shape magazine to Ah-ma's house today. Thought it'd help to kill boredom if there ain't anything good on tele. Then Aunt Jo suggested mahjong. So me, her, dad and mum played. For the record, this is my FIRST time since CNY arrived that I touched the marble blocks. So you can imagine I was gleeful and kinda looking forward to the game.
The moment the game started, I felt funny. First, I throw red zhong, I'll draw red zhong. Throw 4 wan, I'd draw back 4 wan. WTF? Got pretty fed up but took deep breaths to calm the rising temper. Not good to be in a bad mood when gambling.. draws Bad Luck. Then just when my tiles are "swee swee boh zao chwee", and I'm happily rearranging them and all, someone calls "GAO!" from the table. Damn... Never mind, next round.
This time I'm making discs, but the wan's keep coming to me! Go away, you filthy animals.. I thought to myself as I discarded the 7-wan tile. When I FINALLY shouted "Gao!!!", Aunt Jo was waiting FOR THE SAME TILE. She won that game since she's my upper leg (priority goes to her). PEKCHEKS.
Even more infuriating were the tiles I drew. One time I was holding 1 dong, 1 nan, 1 xi, 1 bei, 1 red zhong, 1 baiban and the rest are some crap formation. How to play?!? Do 13 Wonders also hard. Anyway I NEVER attempted shi san yao and never will.... They say once you hu that, you'll lose until sibeh jialat after that. Thanks but no thanks.
In the end I lost 35 bucks. PAthetic!! That money could've been used for a bottle of good red or Alize....
* Saturday 7th lunar day *
Speaking of which, I've finished my passionfruit Alize at Des's place last night. Held a gathering at his house for assorted friends yesterday. Kate and Jun came early; crowd only started coming at 4plus 5plus. Des went to pick our food up from the nearby restaurant, so had to play host to everyone. Intro intro, then played blackjack in his room.
After dinner, I whipped out my Truth or Dare jenga for some post-dinner exercise. Did silly stuff like "Whistle a happy tune while skipping around the room", or "Blow a raspberry on someone's tummy". I lost the 2nd round and bloody hell, I was saboed to do POLE DANCING as forfeit. In the living room, with his younger bro and cousin around..... Stoopid Des rolled his world map and thrust it to me.
"Nah, your pole." Everyone started laughing.
"WHAT?!?"
"Ok if not, then I'll be the pole," Tai stood up and extended his arms upwards.
"........ Don't want lah, no pole dance lah.. Got kids around!!!" I whispered fiercely.
"No, they won't be able to see. Too indulged in their MapleStory," Des reassured, while trying to hide his amusement.
5 mins of cajoling and I did it. All thanks to XP who's leaving and wanted to 'see a good show before I leave' says that woman. Not very good I'd say.... But how does one dance sexily, when she's holding onto a filmsy roll of paper, with no music, and plenty of underaged kids around??? Even the Alize in my bloodstream couldn't make me get into the act.
The kind of friends I have.............. Really no comments.... *shakes head*
In the end left four of us. Sneaked into Des's room to catch The Last Samurai on DVD. They're still hanging outside, sitting, when I'm all comfy on the bed inside. LOL. Drix and Karen left before 10. He needs to work early today and Kar's tipsy. Samurai's boring, so switched to Tokyo Raiders.... Bad choice. Chose War of the Worlds instead. We finished the whole show, which's as cool as I remembered it to be.
Not bad lah, earned 6bucks. Coz by the time Auntie gave angpows I was the only one who's left. HENG I didn't leave early, lol. But had to buy Des a new bedside lamp :( Accidentally broke it when adjusting my pillow.. Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade was the last show we caught for the night. Both fell asleep 3/4s thru the show and woke up in time to catch the ganjiong ending. Good timing, I must say. :)
Left his house about 415, and went for makan at AMK central. Good mee they serve!! Can visit there next time for super late night meals.. Was so full, I couldn't sleep until 630.
There goes my weekend, full of activities. Oh, Friday I was at Danlin's home for some nice home-cooked dinner with her folks. As usual, yakked endless with her. Glad we're still the bestest of friends after all those changes in our lives. My dear, if you're reading this, please remember that cowie and wormie are the bestest pals ever!!! Don't you forget that k, gal =) Looking forward to our Taiwan trip, hee.
OOwwww... my achey muscles and braindead mind. Must have been the pillow fights and wrestling last night. DESMOND CHANG, I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!! @$*@%&!(@*!)@#(*...
